  • Kujari — fraternal twin sister. very close to each other, until Akare leaves his village, but they reconnect later.
  • Cati — mother. strange relationship. even though she does her best to love and protect Akare, he feels only that he has brought a great burden to her by being born. they work this out when Akare makes progress in healing.
  • Kai † — father. Akare blames himself for his death.

  • Haurchefant — well he’s dead… So that didn’t work out! Akare’s first relationship. Haurchefant’s specter haunts Akare sometimes.

General information to expand on for your character

Likes

Likes studying things considered “creepy” to other people — such as death rites, forbidden magic, the void, etc. Surprising lover of sweets. Despite his difficulty connecting with others, he loves talking and being around people.

Dislikes

Mostly himself LOOOL. He hates the visions (from the echo) he gets—he finds them invasive. The hallucinations he has are also unpleasant, obviously so. He hates sour food. People that can’t seem to stop talking (he gets overstimulated easily).

Hobbies / Passions

Once he figures out he has a talent for magic, he loves to practice and study it. Despite being a horrible cook, he is always trying to get better. I think he might like to draw, and specifically tattoo, if he gets the chance to.

Fears

Very, very afraid that his thoughts might be true; that he is cursed and not meant to live in this world. He’s scared of losing his remaining family—actually, he’s afraid of losing anyone close to him at all. He’d rather sacrifice himself, somewhat selfishly, that he might not know a world without them.

Flaws

He is very self-absorbed, even if he doesn’t realize it. Since he has a lot of issues internally, he focuses too much on himself at times and doesn’t realize how his actions affect other people. He is horrifically bad at comforting people (the “Many people die in their sleep” line is so canon for him he would genuinely think it comforting). Self sacrificial to a fault.

Virtues

Very honest. Always willing to do good, even if it means conceding his safety. Willing to learn and connect with others. Above all else, his mind is open to the world around him, even if he has moments where he is not lucid.
